Overview

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) has Canada’s leading Business Crimes, Investigations & Compliance practice, ranked Band 1 by Chambers Canada. We are seeking an associate with two to five years of litigation or business crimes, investigations and compliance experience to join our Calgary office.

Our team defends multinational and domestic corporations and individuals in white-collar criminal matters, including charges under the Criminal Code, Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (CFPOA), Customs Act, and provincial securities, environmental, and occupational health and safety legislation.

We conduct multi-jurisdictional internal investigations on complex white-collar, anti-corruption, sanctions and fraud matters. We have played a leading role in Canada’s most significant corruption enforcement actions.  We regularly develop compliance programs, perform risk assessments, Advise about legality and risk mitigation and conduct due diligence. Our work spans companies with operations on every continent (except Antarctica), and international travel is an anticipated part of this role.

We prioritize mentorship and associate development, with a proven track record of successfully integrating lateral hires into our top-tier practice.
