Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Querying, preparing and analyzing data from multiple systems and databases for financial and management reporting, including executive and sub-committee reporting
- Analyzing and transforming large, complex datasets using query and structured data tools to support management reporting and improve data accuracy, consistency and efficiency
- Building financial models and forecasting methodologies to track key performance metrics and support interim reporting, planning and decision-making
- Monitoring and analyzing financial results and trends, and preparing reports, dashboards and presentations that deliver insights on financial performance, client trends and productivity metrics to management and stakeholders
- Contributing to rate-setting, pricing and benchmarking analysis by maintaining rate models and projection tools and providing detailed analysis of rate structures and discounts
- Contributing to and, where appropriate, leading components of BI and systems-related projects, including data consolidation, query validation, testing, dashboard development and reporting tool enhancements
- Designing standardized data templates, automated workflows and reporting tools to streamline recurring processes and reduce manual effort
- Collaborating with internal teams to provide timely analysis and create scalable self-service reporting tools that improve access to data and reduce turnaround times
- Advising Finance and other internal teams through ad hoc analysis, troubleshooting, documentation and training on reporting tools and data interpretation
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, commerce, finance or accounting; CPA designation is considered an asset
- 5+years of analytical or related work experience
- Experience in a finance function or professional services environment, with exposure to financial analysis, is preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and creative thinking skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel VBA & Power BI; knowledge or experience with Aderant Expert, Iridium BI and Vena is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build financial models, dashboards and reporting solutions for business users
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional priorities and meet established deadlines
- Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism, maturity and strong interpersonal skills
The anticipated annual salary for the Senior Financial Analyst position is $90,000 - $110,000. Salary levels will be determined commensurate with internal equity, market equity and experience.
