Primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Compensation Analysis & Programs
- Conduct market pricing and benchmarking of roles using external survey data and perform job evaluations to support alignment with internal structures
- Analyze compensation data, trends, and survey results to identify insights and support compensation recommendations
- In partnership with the Manager, Total Rewards, contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of salary structures, ranges, and compensation guidelines
Annual Compensation Cycles
- Support the delivery of annual compensation processes, including salary reviews, bonus administration, and performance cycles
- Prepare data files, reporting, and analysis to support leadership decision-making
- Assist in reviewing and validating compensation recommendations to ensure consistency and alignment
Reporting, Data Management & Market Intelligence
- Develop standard and ad hoc compensation reports and analyses
- Maintain and audit compensation data within HR systems to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Support participation in compensation surveys, including data submissions, validation, and analysis of market trends and competitiveness
- Support enhancements to reporting tools, dashboards, and data processes
Benefits, Pension Administration & Stakeholder Support
- Provide administrative support for pension, benefits, wellness, and disability programs, including transaction processing, record maintenance, reconciliations, and vendor coordination
- Respond to employee inquiries and support the resolution of compensation, benefits, and total rewards matters
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, and Finance departments and stakeholders to support compensation initiatives and prepare employee-facing communications
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in compensation, total rewards, or a related HR function
- Hands-on experience with market pricing, benchmarking, and compensation analysis
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), or CEBS designation considered an asset
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced Excel capabilities (e.g., modeling, data analysis)
- Solid understanding of compensation principles, benchmarking, and salary structures
- Ability to interpret data and translate insights into clear, practical recommendations
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
The anticipated annual salary for the Total Rewards Specialist, Compensation position is $85,000 – $105,000. Salary levels will be determined commensurate with internal equity, market equity and experience.
